I have been “working” on the blog for over two years—talk about procrastination! And although I’ve written bits and pieces and brainstormed ideas for a lot of posts, I tend to get side-tracked with fussing with the design and programming and reading “how to do it right.” But yesterday, inspired by an article and contest over at ProBlogger I determined to start with a baby-step and just get something up.
One of Darren’s articles for beginner bloggers recommended writing at least five major “pillar” article. So I started thinking about what are the main “pillars” for creating a joyful life. And the contest is a Group Writing Project with the task of “writing a list-post.” The deadline is today.
So here’s a list of a few ideas for the art of creating a joyful life:
- Balance: Most people are happier with a balance between work and play; the inner and out life; time alone and with others.
- Sense of Purpose: Happy people generally have a feeling of purpose which give meaning and enthusiasm to their lives.
- Relationships with others: Of course there are happy hermits
but most people do better with satisfying relationships.
- Spiritual: Connection to something higher than ourselves.
- Don’t worry, be happy: the most important of all. A determination, choosing to be happy to matter what happens.
- Health & Vitality: In spite of #5, it’s just easier to choose happiness when I have more physical energy.
- . . . I actually listed 29 topics, but there isn’t time now to put them together.
Now to write the articles!
Thanks, Darren for the push (and inspiration) to Do It NOW!
